Additional Notes On How To Use This Tool ======================================== Use this tool to test for a duplicate Class C block or Class C subnet IP address in a list of websites, these can be either hosted affiliate and internet marketing sites or potential reciprocal link exchange partners. The best way to use the tool is as follows: 1) Initially create a list using a text editor, the format of the list is one website per line, followed by a line return. Only lowercase letters are allowed. 2) After creating your list text file load it using the Browse button, then press the Check IP Address button. 3) Add additional websites to the list by typing into the additional websites window, then press the check button again, or load a second list. 4) After you have finished creating your hosted website or link exchange partner list it can be saved for future use, using the Save List button. Formats ======= When entering your list, either manually or using a text file, the tool will except the following domain address formats: askfrank.net www.askfrank.net http://www.askfrank.net http://askfrank.net So there is no need to spend time making the list uniform if you have copied and pasted it from a variety of places. The tool will also accept page and directory domain names, e.g. http://www.askfrank.net/sitemap.html http://www.askfrank.net/seo-tools Duplicate Definitions ===================== A Y in the Class C Duplicate column means that there is at least one other domain in the list with the same class c block address, e.g. 66.225.255.abc and 66.225.255.dfg where abc and dfg could be any number A Y in the Subnet Duplicate column means that there is at least one other domain in the list with the same class c block subnet address, e.g. 66.225.255.131 and 66.225.255.131 Sort Functions ============== If you click on the report column headers (Domain URL, IP Address, Class C Duplicate or Subnet Duplicate) the report will sort for that column, click again and it will sort in the opposite order. This is useful when you have a very long list of domains and you want to bring the duplicate to the top of the list. Clear All Always use the Clear All button between loading different domain lists to ensure results integrity. Performance There is no specific limit to the number of domains that can be tested. During testing of the tool a list of 220 domains was checked in 5-10 seconds on an ordinary residential broadband internet connection. Obviously if a dialup connection is used the processing time could be longer.
