Useful Links and Resources Directory: Content Management
CM or Content Management is a way to control access to information and to enable updating of information on a website. When using a Content Management approach, certain users will be assigned access privilege rights to edit, update, change, alter and delete certain portions of website data. This allows the website owner to control and limit what can be changed and by whom. With an effective Content Management System (also known as CMS), company websites will portray accurate, current data consistently, as the persons responsible for that data can update and make changes as necessary
This alleviates a single person or team from constantly gathering information from various sources to effect the changes. The individual, who is the data source, when enabled via the Content Management System, can update the web pages directly, thereby making the process more efficient. It can also limit the errors made, as the source data is not passing through multiple people before being added to the web page.
